How much does leaflet distribution cost in Brighton?

If you are planning a leaflet drop in Brighton, Hove or elsewhere in Sussex, the first question is usually the price. Leaflet distribution is priced per 1,000 leaflets delivered, and the rate depends on the type of drop, the area and how many leaflets you are sending out. This guide sets out our starting prices, explains what moves a quote up or down, and shows you how to plan a budget that makes sense for your business.

Our prices per 1,000

These are Leaflet Media Brighton's starting prices:

  • Shared distribution: from £55 per 1,000

  • Solus distribution: from £75 per 1,000

  • Menu distribution: from £99 per 1,000

  • Magazine distribution: from £149 per 1,000

  • Business to business distribution: from £160 per 1,000

These are starting points. Your exact price depends on the details of your campaign, which we cover below.

What changes the price

Shared or solus. A shared drop delivers your leaflet alongside one or two non-competing leaflets, so the cost is split. A solus drop delivers your leaflet on its own, which costs more but gets your leaflet more attention.

The area. Dense streets of terraced houses are quick to cover. Rural roads, long driveways, blocks of flats and buildings with restricted access take longer, and we will flag this when we quote.

Volume and frequency. Larger campaigns, and regular monthly drops, bring the price per 1,000 down.

Weight and size. Heavier items, such as magazines and thick menus, take longer to carry and deliver, which is why they are priced higher.

Shared or solus: which gives better value?

There is no single right answer, because it depends on what you need the leaflet to do. A shared drop is a sensible choice for regular reminders, for businesses testing a new area and for anyone working to a tight budget. A solus drop suits launches, time-limited offers and any campaign where you want your leaflet to be the only thing that lands on the mat that day. Some businesses use a solus drop to announce something new, then switch to shared drops to keep their name in front of the same streets afterwards. If you are unsure, tell us what you are trying to achieve and we will talk you through the options for your area.

A worked example

Here is a simple way to work out a starting budget. Say you run a cleaning business in Hove and want to reach 5,000 homes around you with a shared drop. At the shared starting rate of £55 per 1,000, the delivery would start from £275. If you wanted your leaflet to go out on its own, the solus starting rate of £75 per 1,000 would put the same drop from £375.

The next step is to compare that cost with what a new customer is worth to you. Say a regular cleaning customer stays with you for many months. You only need a small number of new bookings for the drop to pay for itself, and any customer who stays longer is extra value on top. Doing this sum before you book helps you choose between shared and solus with a clear head, rather than simply picking the cheapest option.

How to plan your budget step by step

  • Decide who you want to reach, such as homeowners near your shop or families within a short drive.

  • Pick the streets or postcodes that match, starting with the ones closest to you.

  • Count the homes, or ask us to do it when we map the round.

  • Choose shared or solus, and decide whether one drop or a series of drops suits your goal.

  • Add printing if you need it, through our flyer and leaflet printing service.

  • Set aside a way to track responses, such as an offer code, so you can judge the result.

Common mistakes that waste money

Spreading too thin. Covering a huge area once is often less useful than covering the right streets more than once. Repetition helps people remember you.

Choosing on price alone. The cheapest quote is not good value if the leaflets never reach a letterbox.

No clear offer. A leaflet without a reason to act now makes it hard to see any return, whatever you paid to deliver it.

Forgetting the timing. A drop that lands after your event, or in the wrong season for your service, is money spent too late.

Why very cheap quotes are a warning sign

Delivering 1,000 leaflets properly takes a distributor most of a working day. If a quote looks far below the rates above, ask how the delivery will be checked. Every Leaflet Media round is GPS tracked and our distributors are supervised, so you can see where your leaflets went.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum order?

Tell us the size of the area you have in mind and we will tell you what is possible. If your list of streets is small, we can suggest nearby roads that suit your audience.

Do you deliver outside Brighton?

Yes. We cover Hove, Lewes, Crawley, Horsham and the wider East and West Sussex area.

Can you print the leaflets as well?

Yes. We can print and deliver in one order, so you only deal with one team.
